CONSUME A NIGHT OF VIDEO & PERFORMANCE Reining from Portland, Oregon, Alexis Gideon will be showing, Video Music’s II: Sun Wu Kong. The piece is an hour long multi-media performance based on the classic Chinese novel "The Journey to the West" which follows the Monkey King through his trials and tribulations. The piece explores Chinese mythology and culture, while honing hip-hop as a narrative form. Gideon balances abstract narrative with a more traditional linear model.
